| 090818_01. Bruce beefed up each of the 4 main posts (which support the roof). The posts are 3 treated 2x4's nailed together. The wood was green when the posts were installed. We already had to replace one post, as it was so no longer straight. He got the others perfectly plumb, then drilled 4 horizontal holes thru each post & installed a bolt. For additional support against warpage, he placed double 3/4- inch plywood on the north side of each post and single on the south side. All of this will be covered with cedar. |

| 090818_05 This section may have to be replaced, as Bruce made a [rare] boo-boo and placed nails on the cedar-side of this header. The nails tend to react with the tannins in the cedar and make black spots, so he'll likely redo this one. Click for closeup to see what we're talking about. |
